About Us

Welcome To Rise ‘N Glide!

My name is Tahseen Takleh, the founder of Rise ‘N Glide. My passion is for martial arts and all the lessons it has to teach the mind, body, and soul. I am a firm believer in the benefits that consistent training brings to the body.

My journey started through my love for Russian Culture. My interest and dedication to the Russian Culture stems from my deep connection to Kavkaz. The more I learned about the people, culture, and traditions of Russia, the stronger my attachment to the country became. The more I learned about the incredible bravery, and strength of the people from Kavkaz, the more I wanted to personally journey there.

When I lived in the United Arab Emirates I trained fearlessly, and hard, so that I would meet my personal goals and desired level of fitness. For years, I passionately studied Muay Thai. While training I continued learning about the Russian culture and what it means to be a man in Russian society. A few years into Muay Thai, I transitioned into Jiu-Jitsu and never looked back.

It was at this point that I met my first jiu-Jitsu coach from Dagestan. The head coach Umar, and the founder of JSJ Team a true Jiu-jitsu master. Coach Umar had substantial credentials to his name, a black belt in Judo and Jiu-jitsu, and a Combat Sambo world champion.

Continually studying the history, and culture of the Kavkaz fighters, combined with the teaching of my Dagestan trainer was masterful. By now, I was really eager to visit Russia and see first hand the place where so many champions were born. I wanted to see with my own eyes how wrestling was a part of Russian life and why they make strong athletes.

Eventually, my dreams came true and I visited Dagestan twice, in the span of two years. This led to a chance encounter with the man, the myth, the legend Khabib Nurmagomedov himself. After several encounters, I was blessed with meeting the father of Khabib Nurmagomedov, Abdulmanap.

On October 9th, 2018, in Makhachkala, Dagestan I was honored to be at Khabib Nurmagomedov Father's home. Where I received a humble gift, that I proudly accepted. This moment was truly inspiring. It meant that the beginning of my journey had been solidified!
